Privacy, simply explainedYour privacy at Parknacross Weather
You do not need an account to use this website. We do not sell personal information, serve personalised advertising or ask for your precise location.
What is recorded?
Cloudflare Web Analytics supplies aggregated information such as page views, broad device type and the page that referred you. It is used to understand site performance—not to build an advertising profile.
What stays on your device?
Installation preferences, notification choices and an anonymous sky-photo identifier may be saved in your browser. You can remove these by clearing the website’s stored data.
Photo likes
An anonymous identifier prevents repeated likes on one photograph. Adding a display name is optional. If supplied, the name is visible only to the photo administrator and may be removed by emailing the address below. Sky photographs may remain in the local weather archive until the site operator removes them.
Notifications
The website asks for notification permission only after you choose to enable alerts. If you enable background alerts, an anonymous device subscription, your thresholds and the last 20 sent alerts are stored by the weather service. Your browser’s push provider delivers encrypted notifications. Turning background alerts off removes the subscription; expired subscriptions are removed when delivery fails. Permission can be changed or withdrawn in your browser or phone settings.
Questions or removal requests
Parknacross Weather is operated independently by the station owner. Email info@parknacrossweather.ie if you have a privacy question or want a saved display name or interaction removed. Requests will be reviewed and the relevant optional personal information removed where it can be identified. Please do not send passwords or sensitive information.
Technical details and service providers
GitHub Pages hosts the website. Cloudflare provides the weather-data service, archive and aggregated analytics. Met Éireann and the Marine Institute provide some official weather and marine information. Radar imagery is provided by RainViewer, map tiles by OpenStreetMap services, and satellite imagery by EUMETSAT through a YouTube privacy-enhanced embedded player. Opening Radar requests map and radar content from those providers; scrolling near the satellite player loads YouTube content. These services receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser information, and apply their own privacy policies. You can use the direct links instead of playing the embedded video. Sky photographs uploaded by the station administrator may be retained as part of the local weather archive.
